Admissions to Horowitz Health’s Intensive Residential Treatment Services programs begin with a referral from a licensed mental health professional, case manager, or care coordinator.

Eligible clients are adults (18+) experiencing serious mental illness who require a structured, therapeutic residential setting to support stabilization and recovery. Once a referral is received, our Central Admissions team reviews the individual’s diagnostic and psychosocial history, current level of care needs, and functional impairments to ensure alignment with program criteria.

We work closely with county representatives, health plans, and treatment providers to coordinate funding, obtain required documentation, and determine medical necessity. If approved, our team facilitates a pre-admission interview, confirms consent and collateral contacts, and coordinates admission logistics with the client and referring party.

Admission dates are scheduled based on clinical urgency, bed availability, and discharge readiness from any prior level of care.
