Drew Horowitz, MA, LADC, LPCC, CIP

Drew Horowitz brings a vast range of expertise working with and overseeing our clinical team. He gained a wealth of knowledge through his own recovery, extensive training, and a master’s level education from the Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation’s Graduate School of Addiction Studies. Drew did his undergraduate degree at Hofstra University in NY, where he focused on psychology and human development. Most recently, Drew became an Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with the capability to diagnose and provide mental health treatment.

Chief Compliance and Strategic Development Officer

Damir S. Utrzan, Ph.D., LMFT, DAAETS

Dr. Utrzan is Chief Compliance and Strategic Development Officer at Horowitz Health, where he ensures organizational compliance with industry laws and regulations while contributing to its long-term goals. His responsibilities encompass analyzing market trends and competitive landscapes to identify growth strategies for treating co-occurring disorders and aligning resources accordingly.

Nicholas M. Beller, Psy.D., CADC

Dr. Beller is a trained clinical psychologist and substance use counselor, completing his doctorate in clinical psychology from Adler University in Chicago, Illinois. He currently serves as Director of Clinical Innovation and Training at Horowitz Health (HH). In this pivotal role, Dr. Beller is responsible for spearheading cutting-edge clinical practices and fostering comprehensive training programs.

Samantha LeMieur

Samantha has over 13 years of Human Resources experience in the healthcare field and in areas such as full employee life-cycle needs, organizational development, and HR Administration. She has worked with both nonprofit and for-profit organizations, most recently with Associated Clinic of Psychology as their Human Resources Supervisor. Samantha has a strong passion for helping others and supporting colleagues to succeed. In her free time, Samantha loves spending time with her family, traveling, and spending time outdoors.

Justin Scharr, LADC CDCC

Justin is a Licensed Alcohol & Drug Counselor, a BBHT Approved LADC Supervisor, and a Certified Co-Occurring Disorder Clinician. He has worked in the SUD treatment industry for 10 years as both a clinician and an administrator. Before joining Elite Recovery, he helped create, and served as the Program Director for Roots Recovery, an intensive outpatient program for adults, adolescents and families operated by Minnesota CarePartner.

Aaron Horowitz

Aaron has been with The Recovery Academy since its inception in September of 2017 and has held the position of Director since January of 2020. Having grown up in a family with addiction and mental health, Aaron has seen firsthand the devastating effects of untreated substance use disorder and mental illness. Understanding this on a deeply personal level, Aaron brings immense empathy to clients and families by meeting them where they are at and providing hope through a collaborative, strength-based approach.

Stephanie Goode, MBA, LADC

Stephanie Goode, LADC, MBA is the Executive Director at Gateway Recovery Center with 14 years of experience in the addiction field. Stephanie began her career at the grass roots of treatment and rehabilitation working as a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor at Twin Town, Hazelden Center City and Hazelden St. Paul in Residential and Outpatient settings. She additionally served on Ramsey County DWI Court and worked in programs that specialized with health care professionals.

Grady Arth, LPCC

Grady Arth, LPCC (she/her) is a mental health therapist dedicated to putting good in the world. Ms. Arth’s years of working with people living with serious and persistent mental illness equip her to be patient and compassionate with humans with complicated needs. Using Dialectical Behavioral Therapy as her guiding philosophy, Ms. Arth offers education and opportunities for people to establish and strengthen their ability to make their own lives better.

Stephanie is the Director of Marketing and Business Development for Horowitz Health with 10 years of experience in the Behavioral Healthcare field and 17+ years of experience in Business Development. She studied Marketing & Business at the University of Wisconsin, River Falls. Her passion lies in meeting new people and connecting with providers to find appropriate care for clients.

Kara obtained her bachelor’s degree in Psychology in 1991 from the University of Wisconsin – Madison. She spent over 20 years after college in account management roles, mainly in the information technology field.
