Alemu Reta, DNP, PMHNP is the Director of Medical and Nursing Services at Horowitz Health, a position he has held since September 2025. He brings extensive experience in psychiatric and addiction-focused care, with a strong commitment to integrated, patient-centered treatment.
Dr. Reta earned his Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from the University of Minnesota. He completed his Master of Science in Nursing at Walden University, specializing as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. He received his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Augsburg University and began his nursing education at Minneapolis Community and Technical College, where he earned his associate degree.
Prior to joining Horowitz Health in September 2023, Dr. Reta worked in a range of high-acuity and correctional settings, including Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation (2022–2023), Anoka Metro Regional Treatment Center, and the Sherburne County Jail. In his current role, he provides clinical and operational leadership across medical and nursing services, supporting high-quality, evidence-based care for individuals with complex mental health and substance use needs.
