The Landing 1: Compassionate Residential Mental Health Care

The Landing 1 is a licensed Intensive Residential Treatment Services (IRTS) program in St. Paul, Minnesota, providing comprehensive, person-centered care for adults experiencing significant mental health needs.
Operated by Horowitz Health, our 16-bed residential program offers a safe, structured environment where individuals can stabilize, build essential life skills, and prepare for a successful return to community living. Through evidence-based treatment, compassionate support, and individualized care planning, we help each resident take meaningful steps toward long-term wellness.
Who We Serve
The Landing 1 serves adults ages 18 and older who would benefit from intensive residential mental health treatment in a supportive, therapeutic setting.
Our program is ideal for individuals experiencing:
- Serious and persistent mental health conditions
- Co-occurring mental health and substance use concerns
- Difficulty maintaining stability in a less structured environment
- Recent psychiatric hospitalization or crisis
- A need for intensive therapeutic support before transitioning back to independent living
Residents enjoy the privacy and comfort of single-occupancy bedrooms, including one ADA-accessible room.
Comprehensive Mental Health Treatment
Every resident receives an individualized treatment plan designed around their unique goals and strengths. Services include:
- Individual therapy
- Group therapy
- Medication management
- Psychiatric and nursing support
- Life skills development
- Coping and emotional regulation strategies
- Discharge and aftercare planning
- 24-hour staff supervision in a structured therapeutic environment
Our multidisciplinary team works collaboratively with residents, families, healthcare providers, and referral partners to ensure continuity of care throughout treatment.
Integrated Care for Co-Occurring Disorders
Many individuals we serve experience both mental health and substance use challenges. At The Landing 1, we integrate substance use education and recovery-focused programming into our therapeutic groups because we recognize the important connection between mental health and substance use.
However, The Landing 1 is a mental health IRTS program—not a primary substance use treatment program. Individuals whose primary treatment need is substance use disorder may be better served in a dedicated substance use treatment program before transitioning to IRTS. Our admissions team works closely with referral partners to help determine the most appropriate level of care for every individual.
